Embrace the Aging Process…Don’t use it as an EXCUSE!

Age is a mindset.  Its only a number. 
How you live you day is how you live your life.  So, if you want to live your best life in your second of your life then we need to approach our fueling, training and daily performance in life slightly differently that we used to do in our previous years.

Are  you feeling as an aging, burned out, and broken down athlete who is struggling to get the desired results even when trying to do all the right things you hear or read about?
I have a suggestion for you.

Embrace the aging process and stop fighting it.

We are all aging up each day but we have a choice how we want to feel, look and act each day.
Yes, we have choices and we need to make those choices everyday that enhance the aging process and improve our longevity.  That may include adjusting how you fuel up each day, how you prioritize your sleep, how you approach your scheduled workout that day, and how you train for an event or big race.
We should adjust our fueling and training plans in our 40’s, 50’s and up different that how we would in our 20’s and 30’s.  In other words, fuel and train each day to improve your FUTURE self, rather than your past self.  Or as I say daily, STRIVE to THRIVE each day as an aging athlete, rather than just SURVIVING the day.
That brings me to the three step process I coach my clients how to become a fat adapted athlete then work on providing the tools (The WHOLESTIC Method coaching program) how to become a more INTUITIVE athlete on how they approach their fueling, training and performance in life and sports.

Link to my podcast interview chat with Peter Defty on OFM: Fat Adaptation to get your body to BURN FAT over eating fat.  We want to BURN FAT – which doesn’t mean to over consume FAT to burn your own stored body fat.  As an athlete- our guidelines to keto endurance, fat adaptation and strategic carbohydrates (real food vs. processed food) is different when you are metabolically fit athlete!  Aerobic capacity in increased, energy production, mitochondria (Fat Metabolism) – improves our ability to burn fat at higher levels.  We still want to have the back up reserve of CARBS for back up “rocket fuel” on race day as we race to the finish line or need to do a major high intensity surge to get ahead.

I am on a mission to help coach up the burned out, broken aging athlete who is doing too much in life and ends up struggling with unexplained weight gain, fatigue, poor recovery and METABOLIC CHAOS.
I coach both men and women over 40 (I just turned 5-0) that are similar to myself…driven, ambitious, high performing individuals who thrive with “more is better” and need to learn about “less is more”!
In 2016, so long ago now, I shared my personal story in a book called “LIFE IS NOT A RACE- It is a Journey”.  I am now finally able to focus on sharing my journey to help other driven athletes avoid going through what I did to myself.
