Mr. Miyagis lessons:
1. Wax on, wax off: get your life and goals in order. Clear about what you want. What do you want your life look like? Whatever your goals are in life is to clean things up. What needs to be cleaned up? Diet? Coffee? Sleep? Relationships? What would make a difference?
2. Sand the floor: going to be rough patches in life, career or athletic sports… you can’t ignore and step over the splinters in life. Sometimes you need to sand the floor. What are some struggles in your life you need to deal with in order to reach success. What you resist persists in life. Sand the floor!
3. Catching the fly with chopsticks: “you beginner’s luck” be humble when achieve success. Remain humble if you want to achieve success in life. Life seems hard but every day we enjoy some small successes…don’t celebrate every victory- share lessons and pay it forward to help others succeed.
4. Painting the fence. No short cut. The four hour week…not good business plan! Doing the work saves times. Do the work. Everyone looking for a short cut. No better road to success or substitute to just putting in the work- time in the saddle.
5. Paint house side to side: demands of life and triathlon challenging. Train, recover, focus on family, work and career. Honor your spirit or honor the universe. In life believe there is something bigger than yourself. Bring balance into your life… stay married and happy. Success in life on both side …achieve success and significance in life.
