What is Oxidative Stress?
Oxidative stress refers to an imbalance between the production of free radicals (reactive oxygen species, ROS) and the body’s ability to counteract or detoxify their harmful effects through antioxidants. Free radicals are highly reactive molecules with unpaired electrons that can damage cells, proteins, and DNA by oxidation.
