If you have ever enjoyed the scent of a flower, you’ve experienced the aromatic qualities of essential oils. These naturally occurring, volatile aromatic compounds are found in the bark, stems, flowers, roots and other parts of a plant. Essential oils give a plant its distinctive smell, protect the plant and play a role in its pollination. In addition to their intrinsic benefits to plants and their amazing fragrance, essential oils have long been used by humans as plant-based medicine.lemon342x524

The physical and chemical properties of the volatile aromatic compounds that compose essential oils allow them to quickly move through the air and directly interact with the olfactory sensors in the nose. Such unique properties make essential oils ideal for aromatherapy – using these compounds from plants to help maintain a healthy mind and body – as well as topical applications. The types of compounds present in an essential oil determines the oil’s aroma and the benefits it has for the user. Essential oils can be used for a wide range of emotional and physical wellness applications and also make great non-toxic versions of cleaning products and air fresheners.

ESSENTIAL OILS-“The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.” Rev. 22:2

“Essential oils are our passion here at Awesome Natural Healing. These beautiful Biblical oils are truly “God’s medicine.” He made us so perfectly and He gave us wonderful foods to nourish us and the oils from his powerful plant life to keep our body thriving, physically and emotionally. Aromatherapy for your brain- emotions are housed in part of your brain.  Essential oils can get into your brain to help with many areas of health.  Today we are talking about how to improve performance and recovery with essential oils for athletes of all levels…stop taking “Vitamin I” pills as Advil and Aleve and try a different natural approach.

Paul Holmes and Wes Hobson are both athletes who have tried adding essential oils into their recovery program.  We want to work on our energy and focus…citrus oils are ideal for focus.  The wild orange is a “crowd pleaser” oil to help focus on what you are doing- being present, focus and eliminate distractions as well as peppermint oil.  The peppermint oil “peeps” you up- energy and focus gained for performance pre-activity, event or game.  Health and sports orientated individuals don’t need many drops- the quality oils as DoTerra are stronger pure form (no chemicals or pesticides spray on the source). Grocery store brands are less potent.

Where to put the oils?  On your chest is a great location or your wrist (wild orange and peppermint).  Another essential oil blend is called “True Blue” rub… and then add frankensense to rub to create an amazing results for recovery on muscles. Lemon Grass is good for relieving muscle pain.  You can put oils on the bottom of your feet… just as the reflexology points. Sandlewood oil is good for shutting the mind down and helping you sleep at night.
