As I have been working on improving and transforming the WHOLE me from the inside out since my internal “break down” in 2013, I have found a few new supplements to help my recovery and repair- thus performance at a cellular level. Everyone is different and we all have our different “missing pieces” to improve in order to become “The WHOLESTIC Athlete”! Our over all goal should be to improve the aging process- longevity but of course we all want to immediate benefits of burning fat, improving energy, solid sleep at night, faster recovery and repair so we can train hard and race fast!
Here is what is working for ME…again we are all unique and N = 1 so get tested with a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner or a Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner near you!
Morning: upon waking as I get ready for the day and a quick cold shower (or at least cold water on my face) I take:

- Kion Amino Acids
- B12 drops under my tongue
- Glutathione – Nano Glutathione drops
In the afternoon, after my 16 hour overnight fast I “break my fast” with Ancient Nutrition Keto Feast and/or Athletic Greens. Click here to learn about Athletic Greens
Dr. Axe has create many bone broth based nutrition products which is great for myself and my gut health as bone broth has many benefits. Fortunately, their products taste good especially the vanilla keto feast mixed with cold water in my shaker bottle then add some Tumeric Tonic by Further Food!
With my meal – I usually have one big main meal during the work week (called OMAD!) but with my meal- MY BODY needs to have digestive enzymes, berberine and HCL betaine to help digestion and absorption plus I try to have at least one cup of bone broth per day when I have some in stock (we keep selling out!).
- Dr. Axe Fermented Enzymes- great for inflammation if taking on empty stomach but helpful for digesting food
- Dr. Axe Keto Fire- if I need a boost and help burn more fat by adding ketones plus good adaptagens for stressful days
- Betaine HCL supplement- I order supplements from Biotics NW for clients depending on which supplement worked for their body based on our functional evaluation and LNT process.
- Essential Fatty Acids as Living Fuel EFA
- Blood sugar support as berberine and other herbs – similar to Kion Lean supplement from Ben Greenfield’s company here
In the evening before bed, after I stop eating by 6pm or some days 7pm based on my work day, I end the day with some key supplements to help my body recover and repair overnight while I am sleeping like a baby!
First I use my BioMat- infrared heat therapy for 30 minutes if I can’t get to my Sunlighten Full Spectrum (near, mid, and far infrared wavelengths programs) at my studio, to help me relax and prepare to sleep through the night while reading with my Swannies glasses to block any blue light if watching television or reading on Ipad.
- IKOR supplement – “Recovery-enhancing hemp extract; protecting your body from the stresses of training, improving recovery from intense efforts and maintaining a positive mental state.”
- Megasporebiotic – spore based probiotic to help improve gut diversity and gut wall lining. Here is my link to order megasporebiotic or their total gut restoration program as you can only order from a practitioner.
- Glutathione drops (under tongue)- as Nano Glutathione or other drops we order for NTP clients
- Iron pills with HCL betaine to help absorption- since I am always anemic and low iron!

Its a lot of work to take care of the WHOLE me to improve the aging process and to get back to racing in 2019 but we also put our body through a lot of work day after day! Take care of your mindset, digestion, and gut health to help absorption as well as eating real foods within an eight hour eating window (time restricted eating) and therefore 16 hour overnight fast (16/8). Take time out to reset and reboot your system everyday but also take a week to reset your body, digestive system and improve your detoxification system (starting with liver health!).
