Why you should TEST and not GUESS on your HEALTH Status

Are you “healthy”?

You don’t know what you don’t know!

How do you know if you have a hidden pathogen as H.Pylori in the wall of your stomach organ?

How do you know if you have Crypto or Blastohominos pathogen in your small intestines?

How do you know if your hormones are imbalanced?

How do you really know if you have liver congestion? Leaky Gut? Oxidative stress?

You don’t really know unless you run well-chosen functional lab tests and clinically correlate with an individual’s intake forms.

What can we do to reduce our risk of chronic infections that can lead to chronic disease??

  1. Improve and maintain microbiome diversity
  2. Improve the mucosa and gut motility
  3. Increase your Secretory IgA
  4. Increase Treg and OVERALL immune system

How do you know if you have a strong and resilient immune system?

Based on what we are experiencing in our world today with the world wide spread of the COVID-19 virus, I wish/hope that everyone in the world would be motivated to make their health a priority as well as be curious on if they do have a strong immune system and how resilient are you really?

We don’t know unless we run functional lab tests but you can start working on your nutrition, exercise, sleep, stress reduction, movement/time outside, proper digestion, gut health, hydration and most importantly – HAPPINESS with time playing, laughing, humming, and being GRATEFUL for today.

Now, more than ever, the basic lifestyle pillars of Functional Diagnostic Nutrition: Diet, Rest, Exercise, Stress reduction, and Supplementation when needed are so important in supporting our immune systems.

How is strong is your immune system? You will need to answer this by starting to evaluate how strong is your gut health?

What are you doing to improve your health? I asked on social media what they were doing to improve their health…if anything new and different. I didn’t get many responses. My thought was people don’t know what “healthy” means …and they are not doing anything different to stay healthy but washing their hands and staying home (ideally!).

I am on a mission to educate people what is health about… as well as our gut health and our immune health is pretty much the same. Realistically people don’t know about proper digestion, gut health or how to build their immunity as they are taught “health” is by taking a vitamin or prescription medication from their doctor (sad but true).

Our immunity comes from our gut… as 80% of our immune system resides in our gut wall lining…our microbiome. In Nutritional Therapy, we always improve our health, specifically gut health and immunity, by working on WHAT we are eating, HOW we are eating and WHEN we are eating – starting north and work our way south.

We can’t repair the gut when dysfunction if we don’t work on the functions that happen “north” of the gut …as eating real, nutrient dense, quality food (that balances our blood sugar) in the PNS “rest and digest” nervous system, chewing our food, focused when eating, and being able to properly breakdown and absorb our food/nutrients we consume. First of all- we need to avoid eating inflammatory foods and foods that we react or ares sensitive to each day as that contributes to additional sources of stress.

We must have proper stomach acid (HCL acid) levels around pH 1.5-3.0 to start digesting proteins and continue the proper digestive functions. We need to be able to have sufficient digestive enzymes and bile flow to breakdown fats, carbs and proteins. If we are not breaking down, digesting and absorbing our food our food correctly in our digestive system then we are not able to get the required nutrients to keep our defense system operating at optimal levels – also remember when CHRONIC stress is on… our immune system (specifically our SIgA) is depressed.

Proper digestion and gut health is key to optimizing our entire health from the inside out.

Do you have a leaky gut and damaged gut wall lining? Check out what happens in a damaged gut wall lining… inflammation and autoimmunity begins here:

Do you have an inflammed gut and a “leaky” in your gut mucosal barrier?

How do you know how strong your first line of defense systems (ARMY and NATIONAL GUARD) is inside of you?

Let’s review what is the difference between SIgA and IgG…

SIgA is the most abundant and vital antibody in the body’s first line of active defense. … New research indicates that sIgA plays an important role in overall immunity, including its ability to maintain homeostasis in the digestive tract and reduce inflammation.

Secretory IgA is the principal weapon protecting us from pathogens and toxins that might otherwise penetrate mucosal surfaces … It is important to appreciate how prominent secretory IgA is in immune defense. The majority of the body’s entire pool of activated B cells is located near the mucosae and the exocrine glands. Both in the lamina propria of the gut and the exocrine glands, about 80% of all B cells and plasma cells present produce polymeric IgA.

Secretory IgA (SIgA) is one of the most important effector molecules in the gastrointestinal immune system because it constitutes the first-line immunological barrier against pathogens; it modulates immune exclusion [12–14], regulates the intestinal microecology [15], induces immune tolerance [16–18], and inhibits inflammation and allergic reactions, as well as performing other functions [19]. However, when this barrier is destroyed, invasive pathogenic microorganisms can cross the epithelial border. Subsequently, another important effector molecule, IgG, rapidly recruits phagocytic innate immune cells (granulocytes, monocytes) through the activation of an inflammatory reaction. With the help of IgG, phagocytic cells eliminate the invading bacteria in a matter of hours [20]. Therefore, IgG provides a second line of defense that controls microbial dissemination by eliciting a robust inflammatory reaction.

How do we know if we are low or high in SIgA and IgG?

Why should we test our HIDDEN internal stressors that are contributing to our CHRONIC stress -leaky gut-inflammation and domino effect into breakdown and burnout of all body systems?

TEST and NOT GUESS about how healthy you really are on the inside!  You don’t know what is “under your hood” unless you run a diagnostic evaluation as you would do for your own car!

Take ownership for your own body as you would with your own car to keep it running at optimal level!

Self-care with “The WHOLESTIC Method” elements but we also need to know what we need to repair, rebuild and restore by running an investigation on the WHOLE you from the inside out with our FDN Practitioner “health detective” services.

Start your investigation into transforming the WHOLE you from the inside out!

How do we measure, assess and evaluation the function or dysfunction of …

  • Leaky Gut or intestinal permeability?
  • Gut pathogens?
  • Microbiome balance?
  • Food sensitivities?
  • Digestion?
  • Detoxification?
  • Oxidative stress?
  • Neurotransmitters?

One functional lab testing company that we use in our FDN Practitioner medication director program includes many of these lab tests that can be ordered via your practitioner in your 90-day plus health coaching program to help investigate what is “under your hood” and help create an individualized health building protocol to put your missing pieces of the puzzle together- to help restore the WHOLE you back to vitality, balance (homeostasis) and to thrive each day.

Does your gut like wheat? Or does wheat contribute to your inflammation and “METABOLIC CHAOS”?

The functional lab tests used in the FDN practitioner health detective coaching program are only available in the 90-day individual coaching program as we need to treat the WHOLE individual with clinical correlation of intake forms, nutritional therapy assessment, “METABOLIC CHAOS®” assessment, main health concerns/symptoms, goals and the results of recommended functional lab tests (that your doctor won’t order as they are not typically covered by insurance).

The recommended lab tests we decide for you to self-test will be ordered via our FDN Medical Director Program then shipped to your house.  You take the test according to the provided directions, then ship the results back to the lab (as described) and pay the lab directly.  You can run most all labs from your own home as most of the labs are urine, saliva or stool testing samples.  The blood tests must be conducted at specific labs as per the lab testing company.

What is going on in your gut? Optimize gut health = build a resilient immune system

About the Vibrant Wellness GI Zoomer lab test:

  • The gut microbiome resides in your large intestine and is host to more than 1000 species of bacteria that perform certain important functions from shaping the immune system to influencing metabolism of nutrients to fortifying the intestinal mucosal barrier (gut barrier).
  • It is important to know the abundances of the bacteria that symbiotically live in the human gastrointestinal tract because imbalances in the gut microbiome may lead to gastrointestinal symptoms, skin conditions, autoimmune disorders, immune system imbalances, and multiple inflammatory disorders.
  • Vibrant uses a proprietary microarray hybridization technology platform, using the whole-genome data to simultaneously detect over 300 microorganisms with 99% specificity and 98% sensitivity, unheard-of levels of accuracy in the detection of pathogenic microorganisms.
  • Because Vibrant does not use sequencing technology, which is time-consuming and prone to high level so inaccuracy, the Gut Zoomer is the most accurate microbiome test available to aid discerning healthcare providers in the assessment and treatment of gastrointestinal disorders.

The Gut Zoomer report provides you with actionable recommendations that include potential risks for:

  • Intestinal permeability (SCFA producing bacteria and tight junction integrity)
  • Intestinal disorders (IBS and IBD related bacteria)
  • Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO)- related bacteria
  • Cardiovascular health (inflammation influencing and TMAO-related bacteria)
  • Autoimmune health (celiac, Crohn’s, rheumatoid arthritis, etc.)
  • Neurological health (MS, Parkinson’s, and more)
  • Liver diseases (cirrhosis, hepatitis, cholangitis, and more)
  • Metabolic health (Obesity, diabetes, etc.)
  • Nutrition (Vitamin production, oxalate metabolism)

Microbiome and hormone connections (Beta-glucuronidase and Beta-glucosidase)

  • 67 pathogenic bacteria
  • 24 Intestinal parasites
  • 8 viruses
  • 5 Fungal or yeast species
  • 5 worm species
  • 6 antibiotic resistance genes measured

Plus newly added additional markers of functional digestive status:

  • Calprotectin
  • Pancreatic elastase 1
  • Bile acids

The GI Zoomer lab test from Vibrant Wellness:

  • One of the most comprehensive analysis available of your intestinal microbiome ecosystem from a simple one-time stool collection.
  • This test examines the complex and intricate relative abundance of each species or genus measured, in relation to the rest of the ecosystem, to provide a unique perspective on the gut microbiome and its connection to disease and inflammation.
  • The functional digestive analytes aid healthcare providers in determining if deficiencies in digestive enzymes, bile, or other critical metabolites are root causes of gastrointestinal inflammatory symptoms.
  • The Vibrant Gut ZoomerTM also provides patients with an actionable report that includes dietary recommendations and other natural supplementation like prebiotics, probiotics, and polyphenols.
  • Not Available in New York state
