Part two of our conversation about what is leaky gut and now how do you heal your gut wall lining!
I researched articles online with Dr. Axe as well as other blogs I follow… here are the links:
Let’s create an action plan from the suggestions what I have learned about and researched online:
- Change your food plan to remove the foods that irritate the gut as foods containing lectins (grains including rice, spelt, soy and wheat), pasturized dairy, sugar, conventional meat (factory farms), GMO foods.
- Reduce and eliminate chronic stress: Work on relaxation techniques, make time for “play”, having fun and laughing with friends.
- Improve your quality and quantity of sleep! Get to bed by 10pm, sleep 7-9 hours per night and off electronics before bed (lights make brain think it is morning time)
- Remove Toxins: exposer to tap water, pesticides, herbacides, fungacides, NSAIDs and antibiotics.
- Improve gut bacteria (dysbosis) and rebalance gut with healing foods and supplements:
- Add healing foods: bone broth, raw cultered dairy, fermented vegetables, coconut products, coconut keifer, Omega 3 fatty acids and sprouted seeds.
- Repair with gut healing supplements: probiotics (50 billion!), l-gutamine, digestive enzymes, aloe vera juice, quercetin, licorice root
- Digestion enyzmes: 1 or 2 at the start of a meal to help food digest completely as partially undigested food particles and proteins could damage the gut wall lining then leak through the gut wall into the bloodsteam.
- L-Glutamine is often suggested to heal a leaky gut to help repair, grow, heal and protect the lining in your small intestine.
- Licorice Root is on the recommended healing list for many health issues as this adaptogenic herb helps balance the levels of the overused stress hormone cortisol and improves acid production in the stomach to help the digestion system.
