These days we are all “running from a lion” from the time we wake up (too early) and hit the bed at night (too late).  Most of us are always rushing from one appointment or another …as I used to do. Before I was hit with “adrenal exhaustion” in 2013.  My personality is to be going all day and not very good at slowing down.  Rush, rush and rush instead of run, rest and run.  Turn it on and turn it off.  Just as a faucet.  Stop the constant dripping of the water faucet and learn how to turn off your constant drip of stress hormones. Chronic stress is not a good thing – but some stress is good for us.  Non-stop stress is chronic stress and that doesn’t benefit anyone!

 How do you learn to slow down? 

There isn’t any magic pill as much as learning how to press PAUSE and RESET.  We can take a moment to push “alt.-control-delete” and reset our nervous system by breathing.  Yes…taking a deep inhale and long exhale through the nose can help shift you back into the “rest, digest and repair” nervous system or the parasympathetic nervous system.  We can try different supplements and “biohacks” to help unplug and relax as well as putting the phone in airplane mode.

I use parasympathetic essential oil below my ear on my vagal nerve to help me shift to PNS before eating and sleeping by Vibrant Blue Oils.   I also use lavender essential oil in my diffuser in our bedroom before sleep time as well as keep the room cool and dark (no flashing clock lights).
