Episode 111: Ronda Collier & Debbie talk about using heart rate to test food sensitivity

My guest today is Ronda Collier from SweeatWater Health to talk about heart rate testing for food senstitivity.  As you know, Ronda and her team developed the SweetBeat Life and other apps over the years you can find to track your stress, recovery time and heart rate variability (HRV).  You can also test your sensitivity to foods or meals you eat by testing your heart rate before and after you eat.  You can aslo measure you heart rate for one minute (pulse on your wrist) at night and then in the morning to deterimine if you have any environmental allergies in your bedroom as pillows, quilt or even mold.

We talk about two tests you can do by measuring your pulse for one full minute:

  1.  Coca Pulse Test:  take your pulse for one full minute upon waking laying down and then again sitting up.  Then take your pulse for one full minute before eating a meal or a food– continue taking pulse 30 minutes after then 60 minutes and then again at 90 minutes.
  2. The Sanchez-Cuenca Test:  take your pulse for one full minute sitting or laying down- then take your heart rate standing.   If you heart rate is at least six beats greate than your pulse count from sitting then that is an indication of a food or environment senstivity.

“Everything we can do to reduce stress in our lives will lead to great health.” – Ronda Collier

“Stress is the new health epidemic only that it’s not new at all. Stress has influenced humans since we were running away from sabre-toothed tigers and living in caves. That same flight-or-fight response still powers our nervous system today – and many of us are not very good at managing it. But that is certainly changeable with generative feedback technology like the HRV Sense™ app.”
