This manual tells a story of a revolution that will transform our world and ourselves, one that has drawn together nutritionists, medical doctors, acupuncturists, chiropractors, scientists and psychiatrists in an unprecedented shift to addressing health from a systemic or “Wholestic” approach rather than from the reductionist diseases treatment paradigm that dominates Western healthcare.
An important takeaway is that we have been misled at best and lied to at worst about our most basic of health remedies, food. Who ever thought that spraying chemicals on our food was the right thing to do? Would you spray Roundup on your food before eating? Well this is exactly what you are getting with most wheat products, factory farmed animals (they are fed the GMO sprayed grains) and non-organic foods. While genetic modification seems like a good idea, it has allowed big chemical companies to design products that boost their bottom line rather than actually help feed the world. It turns out that Roundup destroys your beneficial gut bacteria, not to mention has been deemed “a likely carcinogen” by the World Health Organization. Great.

The misconception that fat, all fat, is bad for us has led to over processed edible food-like products that are full of sugar and other unpronounceable ingredients that have left our society fat and sick. In addition, our “busy addicted” society, whether created through sociological factors or through fake food induced anxiety, has people short on time and eating out of boxes and fast food restaurants. No Bueno.

To make matters worse, sleep deprivation has become a badge of honor. People actually brag about “only needing a few hours of sleep”, that is until they crash and burn. Perhaps some people need a major collapse before they wake up and get some sleep.

One of the bottom lines of becoming healthy is reducing inflammation. Inflammation is implicated in just about every affliction including anxiety, depression, dementia (Alzheimer’s), autism, heart disease and cancer. The SAD diet (Standard American Diet) is an inflammatory power house and that needs to change in order for our society to be healthy. I’m currently watching Dr. Mark Hyman’s docu-series The Broken Brain. While each episode talks about a different disease group, they all boil down to a common denominator. Inflammation.

In the following pages, Debbie Potts will share what is considered the “state of the art” health information. Don’t expect your MD to understand any of this unless they are certified in functional medicine. These well-meaning doctors have been trained to treat disease (rather than promote health), usually through a prescription, and know little to nothing about nutrition. After Debbie’s own “crash and burn” she is now not only talking the talk, she is walking the walk and helping others reach their full potential, from the inside out. This manual is a great start to a new you. I hope you benefit from this and share this new knowledge with your friends and loved one.
