Immune System: signs and symptoms of dysfunction

- Runny or drippy nose:
- Sign of sinusitis- traced to digestive system and series of events that can trigger an increased susceptibility to infection
- Functional hypochlorhydria and pancreatic enzyme deficiency- causes maldigestion of carbohydrates, fats and proteins
- Maldigestion of food leaves large macromolecules undigested – form the substrate for dysbiosis formation
- Dysbiosis= abnormal intestinal flora
- Intestinal flora- when not intact- the absorptive ability of the intestinal mucous membranes becomes impaired and you get an abnormally permeable intestinal mucous membrane
- Over time the villi (large absorptive surface of the intestines) become irritated and inflamed by the large macromolecules and the dysbiosis – causes it to become less dense
- The large incomplete digested macromolecules, as proteins, start to penetrate the intestinal mucous membrane
- With the destruction of the villi- comes reduction of GALT – gut associated lymphoid tissue- the body’s first line of dense in the gut – and sIgA (secretory IgA)
- The body recognizes the small protein or part of a protein as a foreigner- produces antibodies against it
- Reaction of the antibody/antigen complex that produces the symptoms of allergies that can cause asthma and a stuff nose
- Sinus infections are a reflection of the dysbiosis in the small intestine and in the sinuses
- Chronic fungal infections linked with chronic sinus infections
- Chronic sinus infections antibiotics don’t always help- contribute to dysbiosis in the small intestine
- Address the underlying cause thoroughly assessing the digestive system and begin therapy to restore a healthy gut function
- Need more bile salts-
- Yeast and other unfriendly bacteria in the digestive system can degrade bile salts – causes GI irritation and increased IP (leaky gut)
- May also last to a decrease in fat soluble vitamins
- Supplement support:
- suggestions to test plus assess and correlate with lab results
- Micro emulsified oregano
- Nutrients to heal the intestines
- Betaine HCL, Pepsin, pancreatin
- Support healthy colon
- Glutamine
- Nutrients to support immune system
- Probiotics
- Beet juice and bile salts
- Dysbiosis diet
- suggestions to test plus assess and correlate with lab results
