Life is not a Race… It is a Journey!
What is your journey?
My journey changed suddenly in March 2013 and I am finally ready to focus on sharing my story with others.
I started competing in Ironman triathlons back in 2001 and race on/off until 2012 when I hit the end of the road. My journey ended as a competitive top age group triathlete, cyclist and runner back in 2012 or more around March 2013. Since then that “road ended” drastically (in my mind) in 2013, I was forced to follow a new road and create a new journey for myself. If you read my personal story in my book “LIFE IS NOT A RACE” (on Amazon) and my read my “The WHOLESTIC Method Manual & Workbook” then you may be familiar with my story and my new journey.
Since my new journey started in 2013…
I was forced to slow down, reset and re-evaluate my lifestyle habits, I have wrote two books, became a CHEK HLC, NTP, DNAFit and now FDN Practitioner. Actually, I feel that I have been hiding in my fitness studio that I have owned for 12 years, training clients and running a small business in a competitive market (as well as in a high rent town), instead of following my purpose. In October 2019, I am finally closing my fitness studio in downtown Bellevue to focus on my passion, purpose and mission: to help other athletes avoid going through what I have gone through since 2013. I will be offering online webinars, speaking at conferences, podcasting, writing and coaching individuals how to train the WHOLE athlete from the inside out to be fat adapted, optimize mitochondria function and improve performance. Athletes need to become aware of the red flags that they may be ignoring that their body is sending to SLOW DOWN and stop living life as a race.

The WHOLESTIC Method coaching program will help athletes avoid or prevent breaking down the internal body engines and burning out the body systems. We need to reset, reboot and recalibrate – which is what I do with clients in my online group online challenge -the 30-day Total Transformation Program. My individual coaching programs are designed to address client’s main health concerns using my training and experience from Nutritional Therapy (NTP), KION Coach, DNAFit and soon FDN-Practitioner work to put the pieces of the puzzle together. Most of us experienced unexplained symptoms that are difficult to get help from mainstream medical help- instead we just get used to living with a sluggish system or other dysfunctional “HIDDEN” stressors and use the lame “getting older” excuse!
Personally, I finally feel like I am getting my health back after many years of taking “one step forward, two steps backward” with various external stressors and hidden internals stressors that were not identified. What really has helped me the last year has been working with another Nutritional Therapy Practitioner to test supplements on my body as well as my own genetic snps research. I took my own 23andMe data reports and uploads to various programs as Dr. Ben Lynch’s StrateGene and DNAFit. Also I have been consistently reading every night and learning more resources as “Dirty Genes” by Dr. Ben Lynch, “FAT FOR FUEL” and “KETO FASTING” from Dr. Mercola plus lots of amazing information from “Beyond MTHR” founder’s book “Your Genius Body”! The information we can gain from our genetic snps and apply them to training The WHOLE Athlete coaching program to take an individualized approach to healing, repairing and rebuilding from the inside out. I can’t forget to add the new research on Mitochondria function and optimization. I would conclude that my self experimentation of supporting my methylation cycle and my mitochondria function has contributed to my successful healing journey.
Finally I feel stronger and faster on the bike again…and losing some fat weight!!! Its about time. I do lift weights 2-3 times a week for 30-45 minutes plus intermittent fasting (stop eating three hours before bed) overnight with one 24 hour fast one day a week on average.
Everyone is unique so there is not one size fits all approach to become an efficient fat adapted athlete that is healthy and fit on the inside and out. I see way too many fit but fatter athletes who are probably not healthy on the inside. We need to train the WHOLE athlete from the inside out to burn fat, optimize health and improve performance! Our goal should be longevity over performance while we enjoy the journey!
Join my new journey –
To become the fat adapted low carb-high fat athlete coach, speaker and presenter while teaching others how to avoid chronic fatigue or “METABOLIC CHAOS” before it happens. You can repair yourself in a few weeks but if you let your busy lifestyle and addiction to living life as a race go on for too long then you may take 6 months to years to heal, repair and rebuild as myself!
Finally I am able to focus all my energy into building the fat adapted athlete coaching program and training clients to prevent or heal from dysfunction. I was never able to handle running my fitness studio and personal training clients for hours a day and build a brand plus online coaching business. Now I have the opportunity to make a difference, inspire others and to create impact in the endurance community.
Please share my story and journey with others in your athletic community who may need some support, guidance and education on how to train The WHOLE Athlete from the inside out to avoid break down and burn out. Nutrition, digestion and gut health is key place to start but we need to touch on the other elements of The WHOLESTIC Method on an individualized approach as we are all unique and have different stories!
