As I start shopping for holiday gifts, I have been enjoying learning about essential oils the past two years to create hand made gifts. Also, I am loving my essential oil diffuser in my bedroom, home office and fitness studio treatment room (Infrared Therapy Treatment and Nutritional Therapy room).
Which essential oils are the best to use?
Well it depends on the time of day and how you feel!
I asked my essential oils guru, Mary Lou Harris, whose oils from doTERRA she loves to use each day….
- Morning is use MOTIVATE to energize me.
- I always put BALANCE on my feet to keep me grounded throughout the day. It steadies me.
- I use InTune when I have work to do but motivate is good for that.
- ADD or ADHD can be addressed with PEACE roller on the back of the neck and on the wrists.
- Evening is always CEDARWOOD on my feet, 2 serenity gel caps internally and right now I’m diffusing BALANCE and SERENITY mixed for bedtime and all night long.
- NEROLI is my new anxiety oil on the back of my neck. My anxiety usually creeps and in the middle of the night so I’ve been using that before bed.
I also asked my other class mates in my KION COACH program with Ben Greenfield which are their favorite essential oils to use at various times of the day. I asked them for their favorite essential oils to use in the diffuser for:
- Morning to wake up
- Workday to focus and concentrate (and reduce stress/anxiety!)
- Evening time to relax and help sleep (quiet the busy monkey mind)
James said “I like rosemary and or peppermint during the day to help me focus and I also like to use tea tree oil as I think it makes the air nice and fresh. When I have company I like to have lemon or orange.“

Kelsey agreed with James on Rosemary and Peppermint for focus! Plus Kelsey added “I also like Rose and Bergamot in the evening in addition to Lavender.“
Lea added that she “also uses peppermint throughout the day when I’m tired. Seems to help a lot to wake me up!”
