What are essential fatty acids? They must be obtained by diet- we have two essential fatty acids:
- Linoliec Acid: Omega 6 Fatty Acids
- Alpha Linolenic Acid: Omega 3 Fatty Acids
Why are we trained to avoid fat and eat non-fat fake foods? Our body needs fat… learn why and you may be willing to consume more healthy fats as coconut oil, grass-fed butter, Ghee and other healthy fats.
- We need fats as they provide a long burning source of energy (log vs. kindling). We were designed to burn fat for fuel and be able to fast for periods of time.
- We need fats as they act as building blocks for the cell membranes and hormones- which are body is built up from cells and hormones regulate body functions!
- We need fat to absorb fat soluble vitamins as A, D, E and K
- We need fats for the proper use of proteins.
- We need fats to protect the lining of our organs
- We need fats to help regulate energy absorption and slow the absorption fat of food – rather than carbohydrates which are quick energy source.
- We need fat to feel full and satisfied- reduces cravings for bad fats and empty calorie sugars.
- We need fats to make food taste even better!
We need to eat fat to live so let’s stop being scared to eat real healthy natural fats!
Eat fat to burn fat.
Eat sugar to store fat.
