My friend Michele… well I can say we have been friends since high school but we had a big gap in between the year we graduated to high school reunions and now sharing similar business goals: to help slow down the aging process and transform lives. She has become a very successful business woman in her company and I wanted to learn more…what motivates her and why does she do what she does each day? She is a driven, motivated and dedicated individual. Let’s find out more…

Michele Rufer: tell us your WHY as you are so inspirational and motivated business woman on social media and in the community.

Michele: It has been such an interesting journey with Nerium. I wasn’t looking for anything more than a skincare product when I began seeing my friend share these incredible before an after photos on her social media pages. Shortly after trying them, I decided to become a brand partner with the intent of earning free products. I quickly found that people were looking for real solutions for aging using natural botanical products and my business duplicated quickly. It was a personal growth journey every bit as much as it was a journey of learning sales which I had never done before. I found that the more I worked on me as a person, the more balanced I felt, and the more my business grew. Now the most rewarding part of my business is helping people on their own journeys finding their confidence and growing to become their own best selves.

When I got started I didn’t have a huge ‘why’. I wanted free product, a little fun money would have been great but like most people the reason we start will evolve over time. I saw a much bigger picture and I began to dream bigger than I had before. I wanted to travel the world with my family, make sure that our parents lived comfortably, make some improvements to the house, pay for college for the kids, and take some pressure off of my husband who has worked so hard to take care of our family financially while I stayed home with the kids. So many of these things that we have dreamed about, we have done over the past 4 years! It has felt amazing to be able to live a life we have designed.

A couple of years ago my husbands degenerative eye disease, RP, progressed to a stage where he was considered legally blind. This shifted my ‘why’ into a completely different gear. I want to make sure that when my husband no longer works it is based on his own choice and not because corporate america tells him he can’t. This business gives us choices and I love to help others find solutions and live a life that makes them truly happy.
