The 5 & 10 Rule…

The 5 & 10 Rule…

Do you know the Five and Ten Rule?

When you walk down the sidewalk and you walk by a total stranger…what do you do?  Ignore them or say hello?

The next time you are walking down a hallway, sidewalk, riding your bike or on a run keep the “Five and Ten” people rule in mind…as we seem to have lost our sense of community and connecting with others.

When you see someone ten feet away at least acknowledge their presence with eye contact.  If you pass someone within five feet away, make sure you verbally greet them with a “good morning” or “hello”.   Pay it forward.

This morning in Vancouver on the waterfront for an early morning run.  Not many people were out on the beach or trail yet, but the few people I passed were shocked and surprised when I said “good morning”.  Be friendly and happy…it is contagious and it makes you feel better!

My thought for the day.
