Get Disconnected!

Get Disconnected!

These days we are all hooked to our cell phones, text messages, emails and Facebook posts. We love to feel connected to our “friends”, to feel important and avoiding missing out on “life”.
When are we making too many visits to Facebook to see how many “likes” and “comments” we got on our post?
How do we stop replying immediately to text messages and emails?
When are we making too many posts on Facebook? How much is too much?

I have decided to make a few changes even though addictions are difficult to change…

1. Stay off social media and computer at least one hour before bed. Goal is no phones or computer or Ipad after 8pm during the week.
2. Take a break completely from being “connected” when on vacation or with family.
3. Don’t make more than one post per hour. Wait two hours before making another post when possible.
4. Save your photos from a trip and post end of the day or vacation into an album.
5. Don’t respond immediately to every text and email. Schedule time during the day that you will read and follow up with messages unless urgent…we can wait!
