Clean Eating Tips: “Just say no to soft drinks!!!”

Soft drinks are perhaps one of the worst things you can put into your body. They contain caffeine, sugar or (even worse) sugar substitutes. They can also contain artificial coloring, flavoring, and preservatives.

Research has also indicated that consumption of soft drinks can cause many health problems including type 2 diabetes and obesity. One of the worst things about soft drinks is that the excess sugar they contain. This sugar ends up being stored as fat in the body, which results in weight gain as well as elevated risk of heart disease and cancer. Another study found that rats who were fed a high sugar diet had a significantly elevated rate of breast cancer compared to rats who were fed a regular diet.  Think that drinking a diet soft drink would be a better choice? Think again! Diet soda contains artificial sweeteners such as aspartame, sucralose, or saccharin. These sweeteners have been linked to cancer, obesity and osteoporosis.  

Instead of soda, opt for water or herbal tea.  Your body will thank you!  When deciding what to eat remember: If nature made it, eat it. If man made it, don’t eat it!
