How to Overcome Chronic Stress Symptoms with the WHOLESTIC METHOD

Are you struggling with fatigue, losing weight & depression? Do you ever wonder what might be wrong with your body? In 2013, I went through the same problem. I didn’t understand why I gained 30 lbs. in 3 months. I felt lethargic and depressed. Only to find out that what I was experiencing are chronic stress symptoms.

Chronic Stress Symptoms

Here, are some chronic stress-related symptoms that you might recognize:

  • adrenal related (HPA Axis)
  • circadian rhythm
  • digestion issues- breakdown and absorption
  • gut dysbiosis and low diversity in the microbiome
  • hormone imbalances
  • inflammation
  • sluggish liver and detox issues
  • bacteria and yeast overgrowth (SIBO)

Stress is a biological response to demanding situations, although physical effects do not last long. But for some people who are constantly under pressure, their body is constantly on a defensive mode. According to webmd.com, 75-90% of patients visit doctors for stress-related symptoms and complaints.

Like most patients, I knew I needed help. I wanted an immediate answer to my problems. Because I was desperate to get instant results, I’ve consulted with almost ten different doctors and practitioners. But nothing worked. The treatment they promoted were only meant to give temporary relief from the symptoms. That wasn’t enough for me. Until I discovered Nutritional therapy (NTP) and Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner (FDN) and consequently became a practitioner.

Heal Yourself— Don’t Just Mask the Problem

In my book LIFE IS NOT A RACE, which is available on Amazon, I shared my story and journey of how I turned my health frustration around by changing my lifestyle habits. I realized I need to heal myself from the inside out through a holistic approach. Dosing up on medicines to relieve my chronic stress symptoms is not “healing”. They mask a much deeper problem that might recur once triggered.

With the help of someone to act as a “detective”, we identify the root cause of the problem and restore the normal function of the whole body. It’s about putting the puzzle pieces together and getting to “what’s causing chronic stress symptoms” instead of “how to get rid of these chronic stress symptoms”.

To help my clients in their pursuit of overcoming chronic stress, I follow a step by step program from Functional Diagnostic Nutrition to achieve a WHOLESTIC transformation.

3 Steps to Address Chronic Stress Problem

    1. Identify malfunctions & healing opportunities with functional lab testing. We identify them by probing your H.I.D.D.E.N. internal stressors and dysfunctions which are connected to the majority of common health complaints.H.I.D.D.E.N. stands for:

    2. Support the body’s innate intelligence. We believe in allowing our body to properly heal with drugless protocols, lifestyle and behavior improvements by implementing D.R.E.S.S. for Health Success (trademarked by Reed Davis in the FDN Practitioner Program), to enhance and optimize our “vital reserve” while we decrease or lower our “Metabolic Chaos” (acquired from H.I.D.D.E.N. stressors).

D.R.E.S.S. stands for diet, rest, exercise, stress reduction, supplement. This is similar to my The WHOLESTIC Method Program, which aims to optimize health at a cellular level for longevity and improved daily performance, by applying these 8 elements:

        • Nutrition
        • Exercise
        • Sleep
        • Stress
        • Movement/mobility
        • Digestion/gut health
        • Hydration and Happiness (play and gratitude!)

The WHOLESTIC Method

Anything that continues too long or becomes excessive is unhealthy, thus, CHRONIC STRESS. It poses a threat to our mitochondrial functions. However, not all stress causes negative effects on our health. When given at low doses, Toxic agents actually become stimulatory or beneficial on a cellular level. This is a biological phenomenon we call Hormesis.

As a coach, NTP and soon to be FDN practitioner, I work with clients for a 90-day commitment or longer. We will work on making adjustment along the way as we discover HIDDEN stressors, areas of opportunities and reset as needed.  We will be applying a combination of Nutritional Therapy functional evaluation and supplement testing to find out why you are experiencing chronic stress symptoms.

Our goal isn’t to treat the symptoms based on the lab tests. Rather, the goal is to make lifestyle and behavior changes as part of the transformation program which I offer in my The WHOLESTIC Method coaching program. Overcome Chronic Stress Symptoms Now!

If you wanna get started, here are some lifestyle improvements you can do to jumpstart your WHOLESTIC transformation:

  1. NUTRITION:  eat real food with the right mix of carbs/protein/fat that balances your blood sugar!
  2. EXERCISE:  exercise more frequently but alternate hiit and maf training (more in my book and manual)
  3. SLEEP: stop eating 3 hours before bed and get to sleep by 10 pm. 7 to 9 hours of quality sleep!
  4. STRESS:  identify stressors, triggers or red flags for external sources then do lab tests for internal hidden stressors.
  5. MOVEMENT & MOBILITY:  get up, twist, reach, bend, lunge, squat and repeat.  
  6. DIGESTION & GUT HEALTH:  learn from Kiran of Microbiome Labs. Stress is the most common driver of leaky gut and endotoxemia.
  7. HYDRATION: drink more clean filtered water throughout the day and consume less caffeinated drinks (and sugar)!
  8. HAPPINESS:  get out and play more, laugh more and let your guard down!
