During the holidays we tend to splurge a little more than usual with holiday treats but how should we eat the rest of the year? What “diet” are you going to follow for a few weeks or month to get “back on track” and lose extra weight.
After being away from home for ten days in California during the holidays , I have had many opportunities to observe family eating and shopping habits. Many people eat the “SAD” diet…which is the standard American diet. The “SAD” eating plan is typically lots of processed, man-made food high in carbohydrates and sugar. You may want to look at your food diary and “healthy” go to foods to see of they are classified as real food.
Start by buying fresh vegetables, organic when possible, grass fed meats, healthy fats as coconut oils, raw nuts, fish and avocado. One of my favorite meals this last week was an Ahi stack …fresh ahi, onions, avocado and wasabi. Follow my Pinterest pages on clean eating and holistic coaching.
Avoid buying foods as cereal, crackers, breads, granola, oatmeal, muffins, pies and more packaged high carb foods that have low nutritional value.
