Moving Forward with Fitness Forward…

As Fitness Forward Studio will turn three years old on February 1st, 2013… I have discovered a little more each year on my VISION and MISSION for Fitness Forward Studio as well as WHY did I have the PASSION to open the studio in the first place by myself.  When I first opened the studio in 2010, I wanted to be the first studio to offer TRX Suspension Training Circuit Training.  As the studio evolved over the last two plus years, I became aware that “Fitness Forward Studio” was known as the “TRX” workouts.  I didn’t wanted to be branded as “TRX” workout when I offered so much more than TRX Suspension Training.   I have not been branding what I wanted to be known as in the community…“Fitness Forward All in One 50 minute workouts” but instead everyone calls FF Studio the “TRX workouts”.   As I approach the beginning of 2013, I am finally learning what my VISION is for Fitness Forward Studio, what I would I change and the direction of FF Studio in the future to be WORLD CLASS.

My VISION when I opened my studio in 2010, was to offer affordable group training workouts that were EFFECTIVE, CHALLENGING and for ALL LEVELS.  I wanted to offer a variety of group training times for everyone as life is busy and schedules change.  Since I participated in Todd Durkin’s mentorship in October 2011 and joined his TD Mastermind group in July of 2012, I have been working on “WHAT is Fitness Forward Studio”?  Who do I serve? WHAT do I offer?  What is my VISION?  Mission Statement? Tag Line?  Why did I open Fitness Forward Studio in the beginning of 2010 all by myself?

The last few months I have been doing a lot of soul searching and brainstorming about how I want to make an IMPACT in our community.  I want to EDUCATE people that staying active and eating healthy can be FUN, EFFICIENT and SIMPLE for LIFE!  Exercise doesn’t have to take two plus hours in a day.  Eating “healthy” foods is not what people think they are… individuals do not need to eat non-fat, low-fat and high carb diets.  I want to help people achieve fitness goals and help them finish events that they doubted they could ever start.  These ideas are the services I want to offer at Fitness Forward Studio and expand our FF Client Family  (FF VIP Clients).  One of the challenges I run into is that I am working with a small team and find it challenging to find enough time each week to network and share my VISION of FF Studio.  I am  on a MISSION to share the FF experience with other individuals looking for a challenge and RESULTS in our community.  FF Studio offers the most unique, challenging amazing EFFICIENT workouts, clean eating nutrition fat loss challenges and Triathlon/run coaching.  Our team of talented FF TRAINERS are ready to take the CHALLENGE of being a WORLD CLASS TRAINER in Bellevue.  We are in a hidden location but we have the best location for challenging our FF clients and helping them get RESULTS.  We are not  “the studio with TRX classes”, but the studio with TOUGH, EFFECTIVE, CHALLENGING, FAT BURNING and SAFE workouts.

As I have been working ON my business while being OUT of my business (best spot is in HAWAII!), I finally realized what is mission statement, vision and tag line for Fitness Forward Studio… with some help of my peers.   The new tag line is simple and to the point.  Fitness Forward Studio…FUEL.  TRAIN.  PERFORM.  These three key words are a to the point and define what Fitness Forward is about… getting results by linking nutrition (FUEL), exercise (TRAIN) and sports performance training in life or sports (PERFORM).

How is Fitness Forward Studio compare to a Cross Fit Workout?  Local private health clubs and other studios?   I want FF Studio to be known as the solution to fat loss and improving sports performance as we link clean eating whole food based eating habits and functional exercise training together for clients.  Fitness Forward Studio offers personal training, small group training for 2-3 people and our efficient all in one 50 minute “FFIT” various group training workouts (NOT classes).  Fitness Forward Studios group workouts are limited to sixteen people in order to continue offering individual attention, modifications and variations.  We are going to educate each client how to move correctly, how to activate the correct muscles efficiently and how to push each client to their edge with our various group workouts (not classes).  FF Studio trainers are training our clients how to improve their sports performance, how to decrease body fat through nutrition and how to move more efficiently as well as be injury free!  The group workouts are led by experience, certified top personal trainers in the Northwest.  FF Studio offers WORLD CLASS training with trainers who are ready to make an IMPACT and INSPIRE others in our community.

Fitness Forward Studio is a family… a fitness community.  We strive to offer FF clients WORLD CLASS service to all clients.  Every “participant” in our group fitness workouts is one of our “FF CLIENTS”.  FF Studios treats everyone as one of our own clients, not another person in a big class.  We want to know each client’s goals, exercise history, injuries and race goals in order to help provide them the TOOLS needed to get them to their FINISH LINE.  FF Studios is a community, a family and a comfortable inviting environment.  We want every client to feel welcome when they walk into the door.  We want to see each client make progress, lose inches, get stronger, finish an adventure or cross the finish line at a race.

How do I continue to grow and develop “Debbie Potts” and “Fitness Forward Studio”?  In order to help define my vision and mission statement, I have hired a web designer as well as continue to receive guidance from my leaders (and peers) in my Todd Durkin Mastermind Group.  I have also join Ben Greenfield’s “Superhuman Coaching” program as I want to be a better triathlon/run coach and more knowledgeable in sports nutrition for performance.  I continue to learn and grow in the fitness industry as I have a list of continuing education seminars to complete and then more on my goal list.   I also have been working with friends who created an amazing whole food “energy” antioxidant supplement called “Niupure Essentials” which I excited to launch and market to the Northwest.  In November I will be finishing editing strength training video clips for triathletes with Mark Allen (Ironman “legend”) for the “Mark Allen Online” coaching program.  Also I will be leading clinics and workouts at the new Lavaman Family Health & Fitness Expo in Kona on November 16-18th this upcoming month.  I am completing my NASM certified personal training exam in November and then starting the NASM Fitness Nutrition course then certification.   In 2013, I also have the “Gray Institute” Foundations of Movement certification program to complete as well as Precision Nutrition.

What is up for 2013 at FF Studio?  My next mission in 2013 is to create online workout videos to sell on FF web site for at home workouts, offer online coaching for triathletes, online clean eating rapid fat loss challenges and also get Fitness Forward Studio to be the top studio in the Northwest!   We also will be having an online store for nutrition and exercise products as well as more products available to purchase in FF Studio (as Niupure and Shakeology).  Hopefully I will find a few more people to share my vision, passion and excitement at Fitness Forward Studio and help grow our amazing team of WORLD CLASS TRAINERS.  Until then, I will continue to network in Bellevue with local offices with our new “lunch and learn” seminars, connect with local Naturopaths to lead our “Third Thursday nutrition seminar” and recruit local top age group athletes to join our new “FF Ambassador” program.

I would love to hear more feedback from our current Fitness Forward Family (“FF VIP” clients) as their feedback helps make decisions on the direction of FF Studio.  Our FF family members are our best walking advertisements!  I want Fitness Forward Studio to be known as the fitness training studio offering RESULTS oriented, private and small group training sessions with FAT LOSS challenges.  We mix up our workouts and keep it fresh… we make exercise FUN and clean eating SIMPLE!  It is a lifestyle… we are in this for the LONG TERM!

We are looking forward to sharing the HEALTH, HAPPINESS, and HIGH-ENERGY of our FF clients at FITNESS FORWARD STUDIO!
