The Connection of Hydration& Heart Health!

Healthy heart and Dehydration?

Reminders how to stay hydrated during the day:

  • Drink half your body weight in ounces of clean (not tap) water per day
  • Plus another 12 ounces for every 12-16 ounces diuretic drinks (coffee, alcohol, tea, soda, juiceโ€ฆ)
  • Add sea salt in the morning
  • Try hydration tablets as NUUN in hot weather and when exercising

Other factors for cardiovascular health include:

  1. Diet:ย  heart disease is a disease of processed foods so make sure you eat nutrient dense foods (โ€œJERFโ€ = Just Eat Real Food in its original form!) including cold-pressed oils, raw nuts, and raw seeds for our essential fatty acids (as well as a EFA supplement).
  2. Proper Digestion is key for optimal health:ย  we need proper digestion of our proteins to make amino acids which are needed for the heart (taurine and carnitine).
  3. Proper stomach pH is needed for calcium absorption and to digest needed B vitamins for heart health.
  4. Proper liver and gallbladder function is necessary to digest, breakdown and absorb essential fatty acids and fat-soluble vitamins (A, D, E and K)
  5. Proper bowel flora is needed to produce vitamins B1, B2, B12 and K2.
  6. Blood Sugar Regulation is keep to prevent insulin resistance but also high insulin levels block the pathways (PG1 = Prostaglandin Pathway 1) for anti-inflammation production (made
  7. Minerals:ย  magnesium and calcium are essential for healthy heart.ย  Calcium triggers the contraction and relaxation of the heart (all muscles) while Mg is important to be in the right ratio as calcium for calcium to work or else irregular heartbeats (sign of Mg deficiencies).ย  Try using EPSOM GEL daily as your โ€œskin is a mouthโ€ to absorb the magnesium directly into the skin.
  8. Hydration:ย  supports lymphatic flow and proper blood viscosity.ย  Dehydration causes the vascular system to selectively close some vessels โ€“ leading to hypertension.
  9. Proper hydration influences how efficiently proteins and enzymes function in the body.
