After spending the weekend with my parents …my mom asked if I was still using coconut oil. Her friend told her coconut oil is bad and she knew of many people who have died from having coconut oil in their diet as she was a head nurse at a major hospital.
So I wanted to argue and prove her wrong by explaining the many benefits of coconut oil. There is “no strong data connecting saturated fat and cardiovascular disease.” as you can learn more in the article attached as well as ten years of research in Nina’s book “The BIG FAT SURPRISE” (a must read!).
I gave up trying to win the argument if coconut oil was good or bad for you. It is a natural occurring fat and different parts of the world consumed coconut meat and oil for the main part of their food plan. Saturated fat was the main part of the diet of Eskimos living near the North Pole and Alaska. Natural occuring fats are not bad for you but it is consuming everything in moderation along with a real food meal plan. I have been learning more and more how most of our diseases in our country are a result of processed foods, refined sugars and grains – on top of chronic stress and poor digestion (connected!).
